Lord Shree Ram And Narendra Modi Both figures stand tall in their respective epochs, etched in the annals of Indian history.

Lord Shree Ram, the epitome of virtue and righteousness, reigned over Ayodhya centuries ago, leaving behind a legacy of ideal kingship and unwavering devotion.

His epic journey, immortalized in the Ramayana, continues to inspire millions, guiding them through the labyrinth of life with its timeless lessons of courage, compassion, and unwavering faith.

Narendra Modi, the 14th Prime Minister of India, has carved his own distinct path. Entering office in 2014 with a promise of “development for all,” he embarked on a whirlwind of initiatives aimed at transforming India. Economic reforms, a digital push, infrastructure boom, and social welfare programs aimed to empower the underprivileged and propel India onto the global stage.

Modi’s achievements for India:

Economic Reforms: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) aimed to streamline indirect taxes, while “Make in India” and “Startup India” targeted boosting manufacturing and entrepreneurship. The results, however, remain mixed, with some sectors thriving while others grapple with challenges.

Infrastructure Boom: Massive investments in roads, highways, railways, and airports led to better connectivity and faster travel, laying the groundwork for further economic growth.

Digital Push: Modi championed digitalization through initiatives like cashless payments and fiber optic network expansion, bridging the digital divide and empowering millions.

Social Welfare: Existing programs like the Clean India Mission and financial inclusion schemes were expanded, while new ones like health insurance aimed to improve the lives of the underprivileged.

Global Ambitions: A more assertive foreign policy aimed to boost India’s global standing and engagement with other countries, making India’s voice heard on the world stage.

Modi’s achievements for the common man:

Basic Amenities: Easier access to electricity, cooking gas, and toilets through various government schemes, improving the quality of life for millions of Indians.

Financial Inclusion: Millions entered the formal banking system thanks to Jan Dhan Yojana, allowing easier access to financial services and empowering individuals.

Direct Benefits: Government subsidies and benefits are directly transferred to beneficiaries’ accounts, vastly reducing leakage and corruption and ensuring targeted delivery of aid.

Education and Skills: Initiatives like Skill India and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) aimed to improve education and skill levels, especially for girls, investing in the future of the nation.

Shree Ram Mandir: A culmination of centuries-long wait

However, the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Shree Ram in Ayodhya transcends mere political achievements. It marks the culmination of a centuries-long wait, a dream nurtured by generations and finally brought to fruition under Modi’s leadership. The demolition of the disputed structure in 1992 had cast a long shadow over India’s socio-political landscape, and the subsequent legal battles stretched for decades. Modi’s government has successfully facilitated the resolution of this complex issue, paving the way for the reconstruction of the Shree Ram Mandir at Ayodhya.

From personal pilgrimage to national culmination: A participant’s reflection

Witnessing Lord Shree Ram’s Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya stirs memories stretching back to the 1980s and 1990s when the Shree Ram Mandir Temple Reconstruction Movement ignited a fiery passion in millions. I (Ghanshyam Mulani), along with Shri Rakesh Kumar Pandey, actively participated in this historic movement.

The historic movement was guided by the unwavering leadership of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Shri Ashok Singhal. Along with BJP stalwarts like Bharat Ratna Shri Lal Krishna Advani and Shri Murli Manohar Joshi, we stood shoulder-to-shoulder with tireless activists like Shri Mahesh Khosla, Shri Dilip Godambe, Shri Abhay Savarkar, Shri Tulsidas Deshmukh, Hariom Sahgal, and Shri Lalit Chopra, and countless others. Today, watching our fervent efforts bloom into the magnificent reality of Lord Shree Ram’s return to Ayodhya fills us with a deep sense of contentment. It is a testament to the unwavering faith and boundless dedication of generations who kept this dream alive.

A question of centuries: Who is the man of the moment?

This monumental occasion brings us face-to-face with a profound question: who is the man of the centuries – Lord Shree Ram, the eternal deity, or Narendra Modi, the leader who facilitated his return to Ayodhya?

On the one hand, Lord Shree Ram’s divinity remains unchallenged. His timeless teachings continue to guide humanity, shaping values and morals across generations. His presence in Ayodhya is not just a physical manifestation; it is a spiritual and cultural homecoming, reconnecting the present with the eternal.

On the other hand, Modi’s role in Shree Ram Mandir’s reconstruction cannot be understated. He provided the political will and leadership that navigated the complex legal and social landscape, bringing a divisive issue to a peaceful resolution. This accomplishment, etched in the annals of Indian history, will forever be associated with his name.

So, who is the man of the centuries?

Ultimately, the answer lies not in comparing two vastly different figures, but in acknowledging the unique role each plays. Lord Shree Ram’s legacy transcends time and space, his divinity a guiding force for generations. Narendra Modi, as a leader of his time, provided the necessary impetus to fulfill a centuries-long yearning, his role pivotal in the Shree Ram Mandir’s reconstruction in Ayodhya.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony is not just about celebrating the reconstruction of a temple; it is about the convergence of faith, history, and political will. It is a testament to the enduring power of devotion, a nation’s resilience, and leadership’s transformative potential.

Beyond the basic question of “who is the man of the centuries,” lies a deeper truth. Shree Ram Mandir stands not as a monument to one individual, but as a symbol of unity, hope, and the unwavering human spirit. It is a reminder that even the most challenging obstacles can be overcome when faith, determination, and leadership converge.

The centuries to come will continue to interpret the legacies of both Lord Shree Ram and Narendra Modi. While their roles differ, their contributions to India’s story are undeniable. Lord Shree Ram’s Pran Pratishtha Ceremony in Ayodhya serves as an important bridge between eras, a moment where the eternal and the contemporary coexist, offering a glimpse into the timeless tapestry of history and faith of Sanatan (Hindu) Dharma at large.

Let the consecration of Lord Shree Ram in Shree Ram Mandir (Temple) at Ayodhya, not be an end, but a new beginning of a new era. May it inspire generations to come to inculcate and embrace the values of tolerance in the intolerant, compassion, and justice, echoing the timeless ideals of Lord Shree Ram himself.
