CNG Tata Nexon EV: First of its many features

The Nexon iCNG EV SUV is the first Indian CNG to be powered by a turbo petrol engine. We will be getting in to the specs later.

Tata Motors uses the latest twin CNG cylinder technology system with an overall total fuel capacity of 60 litres (30 litres +30 litres) in Nexon iCNG EV.

It has a most spacious boot space with 321 litres, which is comparatively smaller by 61 litres asd compared to the diesel & petrol versions of 382 litres.

The Nexon iCNG EV like the other Tata CNG automobiles, can be directly started in CNG mode with a simple and single ECU, it seamlessly shifts between the two fuel modes.

It has a technical mechanism that automatically switches to other fuel options if the one being used is running low.

This Nexon iCNG EV top model is packed with the top and best premium facilities equipment which include twin 10.25-inch displays which include an infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster with navigation display, rain-sensing wipers, voice assist panoramic sunroof, height adjustable front passenger and an 8-speaker music system by JBL, leatherette upholstery with front ventilated seats, cornering front fog lamps.

Nexon CNG comes standard with all LED lights that includes DRLs, tail lamps, and headlights. The top model’s SUV EV has sequential LED DRLs and a taillamp with welcome and goodbye lights.

CNG Tata Nexon EV: Safety

The Nexon iCNG comes with 6 standard airbags, ISOFIX, reverse sensors, hill hold control, an electronic stability program, and an anti-glare IRVM.

The top variants are equipped with a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, rearview camera and tyre pressure monitoring system, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamps, height adjustable driver, and front passenger seat belts.

CNG Tata Nexon EV: Engine Specs

The Nexon CNG is fully powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine having an output of 99 bhp at 5500 rpm and 170 Nm at 2000 – 3000 Nm. Unlike the Tigor CNG and the Tiago CNG, the Nexon CNG is available only with a manual transmission — a 6-speed — but it could be an AMT option expected very soon.
