The Adani Dharavi Redevelopment Project has now suddenly become the talk of the town in the real estate redevelopment industry, as the Adani Group is now believed to have started investing billions of rupees for implementing and executing the redevelopment project, with the real estate industry experts and analysts now predicting a huge loss for the Adani Group to the tune of minimum a few hundred Billion Rupees.

Although this redevelopment project has been in the pipeline since the past several years, but it got a fresh lease of life when Shri Devendra Fadnavis became the Dy. Chief Minister of Maharashtra after the fall of Mahavikas Aghadi Government led by Shri Uddhav Thackeray.

Thereafter it appears that the present ruling coalition in Maharashtra under the leadership of BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis has not been able to make any head-away for implementing and executing this project except issuing one Government Notification and the procurement of Railway Land from the Government of India in the past more than three years, thereby creating a picture of huge failure in the minds of the people although the said redevelopment project is being said to be a pet project of PM Shri Narendra Modi.

Dharavi Redevelopment Project Rehabilitation Plan Details:

The presently existing residents who prove the existence of their structure on the land since prior to 1st January 2000 will be eligible for a Rehab Tenement of a minimum area of 300 sq. ft. in addition of 50 sq. ft. Rehab Area.

The presently existing residents who prove the existence of their structure on the land beginning from the period 2nd January 2000 till 1st January 2011 will be eligible for a Rehab Tenement vide the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. floated by PM Narendra Modi.

The presently existing residents who prove the existence of their structure on the land subsequent to 1st January 2011 will be eligible for Hire-Purchase Option, and will be able to stay on payment of rent for 10 years and will then be able to purchase the tenement from the authority.

Dharavi’s Ground Facts From Local Inputs:

Initially the residents of Dharavi were very optimistic about the redevelopment project but with the delay by the Maharashtra State Government in the implementation and execution of the project the residents have now started doubting the intentions of the Government and CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

Moreover this said delay has also given ample opportunity to the Opposition Political Parties which has been successfully utilized by them to the optimum to confuse and crate an opposition to this redevelopment project.

The ruling BJP – SS – NCP Alliance has failed to fill the vacuum of coordinating with the local residents of Dharavi to make them understand the advantages and benefits of the Adani Dharavi Redevelopment Project, whereas the Opposition Parties have left no stone unturned to misguide, mislead and convince the local residents of Dharavi that the Dharavi Redevelopment Project is only anti-poor and pro-capitalist and is only going to create losses and hurdles in life for the locals.

It is shocking that the premises of the Municipal Offices like the Municipal / BMC / MCGM G/North Ward Office is also being used by the political agents of the Political Opposition Parties for the above-said purposes, without any interventions and control of the ruling BJP & CM Devendra Fadnavis.

Lack of Coordination:

As per information from reliable sources, the Corporate Giant the Adani Group, and S. V. R. Sreenivisan, CEO of DRP / NMDPL have been unable to reach the local people at the ground level to convince them of the benefits and advantages of the redevelopment project.

This redevelopment project being the dream project of PM Shri Narendra Modi it was the duty of BJP and CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis to politically facilitate and coordinate the implementation and execution of the Dharavi Redevelopment Project now NMDPL, in which they have drastically failed till date as per information available from reliable sources from ground level in Dharavi including political workers as the people of Dharavi had huge expectations from BJP & CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

As per the local sources, CM Devendra Fadnavis has not only failed the expectations of the local people of Dharavi constituency but has failed PM Shri Narendra Modi as this is one of the most important dream projects of Shri Narendra Modi.

Government & Political Response:

Several attempts by us to contact CM Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Shri Ravindra Chavan, MLA & Pradesh Executive President – BJP Maharashtra Pradesh, S. V. R. Sreenivisan, CEO of DRP / NMDPL & Shri Makarand Gadgil, P.R.O – Adani Group for a response on the subject have elicited no response from them.
